Every child in Ukraine has felt the aftershocks of war, with a staggering 7.5 million young souls grappling with war-related stress. Kids of Ukraine stands as a beacon, ensuring these children don't face their psychological battles alone. Our mission isn't just about immediate psychological support; it's about nurturing future changemakers for a stronger, united Ukraine.

Understanding the Challenge

Continuous exposure to the horrors of war, combined with displacement, loss, and traumatic memories, has left countless children vulnerable. Recognizing this urgent need, we initiated the «SviTy» (Shine on) Project, commemorating its launch on World Children’s Day. Since its inception, over 800 children have embraced a new lease on life through our rehabilitation programs.

Our Reach & Offerings

Operating in cities like Lviv, Khmelnytskyi, Cherkasy, and Zhytomyr, the "SviTy" project unfolds in three key offline formats:

Day Camps: Designed for immersive experiences in the heart of our cities.
Year-round Youth Clubs: Catering to teenagers aged 12-16, offering support every day, all year round.
Summer Camps: Nestled in the Carpathians mountains, a mix of recreation, psychology, and healing.
The idea is unwavering support. Every child knows they can lean on us, whether it's group sessions or one-on-one consultations.

Our holistic strategy revolves around five primary goals

1. Addressing children's fundamental needs, from comprehensive development to peer interaction.
2. Safeguarding and championing the rights of gender-undecided children.
3. Ensuring smooth adaptation of displaced children in new communities.
4. Reinforcing the national curriculum and aiding local educational departments.
5. Partnering and actively supporting the Council of Europe's initiative on internal displacement in Ukraine.

Financial Transparency

Currently operating in four locations with a dedicated team of 26, the monthly operational costs range from $5,500 to $8,000. This translates to annual expenses of $66,000 to $95,000 (plus administrative costs). Each location caters to 500-600 children annually, incurring an approximate cost of $300-$400 per child.

Donation Goals

Maintain existing locations: $66,000/year per location (minimum), scaling to $264,000/year for all four locations.
Expansion aspirations for 2024: Open 5 more centers, with each requiring a starting budget of $66,000 (minimum). Total for five: $330,000.
Overall goal for 2023-2024: Positively impact 5,000 children.

Our vision is to expand the SviTy project across all major Ukrainian cities, reshaping society through the mental well-being and empowerment of its children. Together, we can redefine the future for the next generation, replacing trauma with hope.
